Lease vs Financing

This project was created very early in my time with FAIRWINDS — before I was Creative Director with the company, before we had fully solidified the new Style Guide, and well before I had pitched them on revamping our entire technology stack for the website.

I had only joined on a few months prior and wanted to, well, show off a bit that I was able to create something in-house that could be stylish and professional while providing educational content that could perform well on social channels.

Our VP of Sales Marketing wanted to draw attention to the benefits of owning a vehicle vs leasing — so it became the subject of this proof-of-concept.

When I say this video took time, I mean it. While I can, today, knock out a video like this in 2-3 days, this took several weeks.

I had no issue with finding a voice artist — we thankfully had someone working at our Support Center who had a great voice and took my performance direction well — and was able to find this great jazzy stock tune that I thought fit the brand well. No, the issue was I was working on a 6 year old iMac that was taken out of storage when I was hired and it was barely able to run Premiere. Each draft render took hours and nothing would play back in real time.

I sometimes think I only completed this video out of sheer force of will. I was very glad when I was given a M1 Macbook months later.
